Goodbye 2012

2012 has been a good, fun, crazy, challenging, life-changing year! We have adjusted (as well as we can) to being a family of four with two little ones under age 3! It has been a lot of work but worth all the fun times, precious moments, and new milestones. I definitely think it will be fun for the kids to be close in age as they grow up but this first year has been a handful with two in diapers, Hudson now on the move, and Hayley learning how to express herself with words and emotions :) Lots of bottles, sippy cups, diapers, toys and nights of getting up to check on kids!

This year has also been a year of moving! We sold our first family home on Court Street in July and moved into our rental house on 24th street the end of July. This was never part of "the plan" but as we are learning - life has it's own way of showing us the plan. It was bittersweet leaving the house since we brought Hayley and Hudson home from the hospital while living there and were beginning to make family memories there. It has been helpful in finishing up all of the projects by living here and we are actually quite comfortable - both with more space than our other home and a very small house payment! We are looking forward to finding the perfect family home this Spring/Summer and really getting settled for good!

The other big change for 2012 was Josh getting a job as a fuel-handling technician at MidAmerican Energy at Port Neal!!! We have been waiting for this for a couple of years now - Josh has been watching and applying for many different positions at MidAmerican and we finally got good news! I am so proud of Josh and so thankful that he no longer has to drive an hour each way to work and is doing a job that is less strenuous on his body and less dangerous :) EnXco was a great job for us but this was a huge step forward for Josh's career and very helpful as we grow our family and settle into a comfortable routine.

We are thankful for our beautiful, healthy children and all that God has blessed us with in 2012. We are looking forward to and excited for what is in store for 2013!  Happy New Year!!!
