This was our second Christmas that we spent at home instead of traveling to one of our parents' houses. It's somewhat hard not being with our families but since we find time to be with each side of the family right around Christmas time it's nice to have our own little family time on Christmas Eve and Day where we can start some traditions of our own and let the kids wake up on Christmas morning at our house! This was also the first Christmas in our new house! We went to Mass on Christmas Eve and sat in the cry room -the kids were really pretty good as the place was packed! We came home and had ham and potato soup. Hudson went to bed as normal and Dad and Hayley spent nearly an hour playing her card games - opposite and numbers! The kids left cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Hayley also learned that Elfie would be catching a ride back to the North Pole with Santa so she was a little sad about that. Santa came to our house about 10pm Christmas Eve :)
We woke up about 7am and Hayley's reaction was kind of funny - she noticed right away that Elfie was gone and was sad! I think she was still tired... :) The kids were excited about the gifts under the tree and their stockings!! Hayley also saw that some cookies were missing from the plate!
We opened gifts, made cinnamon rolls, and Dad got the kids' cars running! We had a nice morning playing with gifts and enjoying the time together.
Their cars were the big gifts but Santa also brought sleeping bags, clothes, books, saucers, book bags, and big long-legged stuffed animals!!!!
This was also Hazel's first Christmas! She was one month old on Christmas Day! Sweet girl also got an outfit that matches her big sister's and a new toy - she was spoiled/loved just as much as Hayley and Hudson by her grandparents, aunts, and uncle!
