Welcome Home Hayley!

We brought Hayley home on Sunday, June 20th... Father's Day! It was the best 1st Father's Day Josh could have asked for. Ironically, when I was a baby I came home from the hospital on Father's Day as well! Josh and I went to the hospital at 8am and we were back home with Hayley by 10:30am. Her aunts (Jill, Kim, & Katie) could not wait to meet her! Only parents and grandparents were allowed in the NICU so they had all been waiting patiently while she was there. They came out to the car and were amazed to see how tiny Hayley looked in her car seat! We can't wait for Uncle Jeremy to meet Hayley during his next visit!

We had a little Father's Day party at our house and everyone took turns holding Hayely.... she was on a 20 minute schedule of being passed from aunt to aunt. It was a fun day and we were so happy and relieved to finally have her healthy and home with us. It all began to feel much more real.

Hayley was in intensive care at St. Luke's for a total of 16 days and has now been home for one week and is doing great! She is eating well, sleeping for 3-4 hours at a time and is so much fun to look at and hold! She had her first doctor's appointment on Thursday and she now weighs 6lbs. 4oz and is 21 inches long! We have had a great first week with her at home. She has gotten to meet so many family members! Thanks to all who have stopped by to visit, brought over food and gifts etc. Having a baby and beginning our family has been a blessing and so much fun!

Josh and I are starting to get into a good routine with Hayely. Josh has been amazing with her and is such a help to me. He was home with us the first three days and I was sad when he had to go back to work (partly because he was helping so much during the night!) We have had lots of visits from family and are enjoying our time with Hayley. I'm looking forward to 5 more weeks of maternity leave! Here are some pictures from "Hayley's Homecoming" and our first week with her home! Thanks for checking in!
