Hayley Ann Hewitt
We made it to 35 weeks and Hayley Ann decided to make her surprise, early entrance into the world! I went to my regular check-up and learned that my blood pressure was way too high. After going to St. Luke's for observation it was determined that the baby had to be delivered for my safety and hers. I was induced on Thursday night and Hayley arrived Friday, June 4th at 3:59am. She weighed 5lbs. 11oz. 18.5 inches long. She is healthy, but premature, and was taken right up to NICU.
Everything went very well and it was so great to have all our family with us this past weekend! Jill, Kim, Katie, and Jeremy were not able to meet Hayley as only parents and grandparents are allowed in the NICU for health reasons. We can't wait for Hayley to meet her uncle and aunts!
Hayley is doing well. She will be in the hospital for a couple of weeks as her lungs finish developing; breathing becomes more stable; jaundice is cleared up, and she begins to establish regular feedings and digesting. She is just how she should be at this age and it will just take a few more weeks before she is healthy and mature enough to be without assistance from machines.
Josh and I are so thankful that everything went well and that our little girl is healthy and safe. It was hard coming home without her but she is in the best place for her and receiving wonderful care. We are getting over the shock of this happening so suddenly and so early and getting things in order for her homecoming! It will be such a great day to bring her home and let everyone meet her!
Here are a few pictures of our little angels arrival and the past few days since her arrival. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
